- M/W 35 (Master 1): Born in or before 1985
- M/W 50 (Master 2): Born in or before 1970
Winners of elite categories (overall results of all stages held) are awarded a yellow jersey. They are entitled to wear it in the next stage.
Competition classes use SPORTident punching.
Checkpoints must be visited in sequence.
Fun classes
- M/W Fun Open
- M/W Fun Youth (teammates born in or after 2000)
Fun class teams are formed of two to three people, with at least one female.
Fun classes use metrunner-punching. The app uses your mobile phone's GPS and QR-code scanning to record your checkpoint visit. It's available on Google Play or https://app.metrunner.com.

To reach Hong Kong
By plane
Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is the main international airport. Take the airport train to the city in half an hour.
Some airlines (especially low-cost airlines) fly to Don Mueang Airport (DMK). Railway service is available opposite the terminal to Bangkok Hualamphong Station and the rest of Thailand.
Bus and taxi are available from both airports.
By train
You can take a train from the Malaysian border at Padang Besar to Bangkok. The borders of Thailand with Laos and Cambodia also has railway service to Bangkok. For other countries, it is not possible to reach Bangkok by train.
By bus
International buses are available from countries neighbouring Thailand.
Within Bangkok
The underground Metropolitan Rapid Transit (MRT) and the elevated BTS Skytrain are the two metro systems of Bangkok. You may buy tickets with cash. Note that the smart cards for the two systems are different and not interchangeable.
Buses are also an important means of transport in Bangkok.
Note that Bangkok is infamous for its heavy and congesting traffic, so you might want to refrain from driving unless you're going somewhere outside Bangkok.

Electricity
Thailand uses the European two-pin round plug (Type G), 220V, 50Hz. The two-pin flat plug (Type A) and three-pin round plug (Type O) may sometimes be seen.
Visitors from continental European countries do not need a power adaptor. Visitors from North America may need a voltage step-down adaptor.
Culture
Thai culture is intertwined with Theravada Buddhism. Influence from the Indian subcontinent is present in many aspects of Thai culture, from religion to language.
Cuisine is perhaps the most famous part of Thai culture. Bangkok street food is also well known.

Ayutthaya is the old capital of Thailand with many temples. The abandoned city was destroyed by an invading Burmese army in 1767; the capital was moved to Bangkok when the Siamese kingdom was restored. Part of the old capital is now a UNESCO heritage site. Ayutthaya is reachable by train in 2 hours from Bangkok.
The Amphawa floating market and Pattaya are other famous places near Bangkok worth a visit.
