Update: Singapore City Race is moved to the 2022 series. Details will come in Aug-Sep 2021.

Welcome to the world metropolis of the Far East.
Singapore is an interesting mix of influences: a multicultural city of majority Chinese (with significant Malay and Indian populations), a former British colony, situated on an island at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula.
This combination, together with an open market economy, made what is probably the most prominent world metropolis of the Far East.
Explore this culturally diverse metropolis by running through the city and finding your way with a map. Welcome to #AsiaCityRace #SIN.

#AsiaCityRace #SIN is organised in cooperation with Orienteering Federation Singapore

To reach Singapore
By plane
Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) is one of the best airports in the world, known for its many restaurants and entertainment opportunities. Jewel, the newest addition to Changi Airport, is famous for its design evoking a tropical paradise.
From Changi, take MRT to the city centre (change at Tanah Merah) in half an hour. Buses and taxis are also available.
By train
Take any long distance KTM (Malaysian railways) train to Johor Bahru, then take the shuttle train to Woodlands.
By bus
Long distance buses are available from many cities in Peninsular Malaysia to Singapore.
By ferry
Fast ferries are available from Batam, Indonesia to Singapore.
By car
You can drive from Malaysia to Singapore via the Causeway at Woodlands, or the Tuas Second Link.
You must have insurance cover for Singapore. You will also be asked to buy an Autopass card to pay road tolls (Electronic Road Pricing, ERP) and other fees.
Within Singapore
The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is the metro system of Singapore. You need to buy a smart card to use the MRT.
For places far from MRT stations, buses and light rail are available.
Driving is largely unnecessary, given the convenience of public transport.
Visa policy
Citizens of most European countries, all Southeast Asian and Oceania countries, all North and South American countries, and the majority of Africa countries do not need a visa to enter Singapore. The visa free period is 30 days (90 days for some countries). See details
Electricity
Singapore uses the British three-pin plug (Type G), 230V, 50Hz.
Visitors from most countries need a power adaptor.
Culture
Singapore is a multicultural society exemplified by its Chinese, Malay and Indian population, each of which is hardly monotonous—the Chinese, for example, include the Peranakan who came for centuries, and more recent immigrants, with different mother tongues such as Cantonese and Hokkien.
English is the lingua franca and the most used of the four official languages (the other three are Mandarin, Malay, Tamil).
Singapore is known for its diverse culture. Visit Chinatown and Little India to learn more about the diverse ethnic backgrounds of Singaporeans and their culture.
As a tropical garden city, there are plenty of nature for you to experience. Go to the Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari. Go to the Singapore Botanic Gardens (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Go to Sentosa, the main holiday resort of Singapore, for a day excursion.
Try street food at the hawker stalls. You won't forget the taste!
